Ahead of the festive season, Amazon India said it has created more than 160,000 seasonal work opportunities across its pan-India operations network supporting its ecommerce and quick commerce businesses.
According to the company, the opportunities include direct and indirect roles across 400 cities, spanning major metros as well as Tier II and Tier III cities such as Varanasi, Kochi, Jalandhar, Ghaziabad, Ranchi, Salem, and Gorakhpur.
Amazon said the roles will also provide opportunities for thousands of women and associates with disabilities across its network.
These workers will support various stages of order fulfilment, including picking, packing, shipping, and delivery.
The company has already onboarded most of the seasonal workforce and begun providing the required training.
