It’s no secret that JLR, the group behind Jaguar and Land Rover, was planning a Range Rover Electric: as early as May 2025, we were even able to publish a test report of a prototype. However, during the July that followed, JLR admitted that the Range Rover Electric would not arrive in 2025 after all. Martin Limpert, Range Rover’s Managing Director, has since justified this retroactively by stating: “We took our testing and development programmes even further than originally intended to ensure Range Rover Electric is genuinely the most accomplished Range Rover ever.”
Thanks to these delays, initial data from the new eSUV has been public knowledge since April 2025. The Range Rover Electric is equipped with a 118.5-kWh battery and an 800-volt system architecture. JLR states a WLTP range of 600 km, while acknowledging that typical driving conditions result in a ‘real-world’ range of 535 km.
The maximum charging power is 350 kW, enabling rapid charge from 10 to 80 per cent in 22 minutes at a fast-charging station. Interestingly, JLR’s spec sheet also includes charging times at Tesla Superchargers: at a V3 Supercharger, charging from 10 to 80 per cent takes a full 40 minutes, while at a V4 Supercharger, it still takes 32 minutes.
