Kyiv and Odesa came under a massive Russian missile and drone attack overnight on Wednesday, Sept. 2, leaving at least 10 people wounded and damaging civilian infrastructure, Ukrainian officials said. Kyiv Post correspondents heard explosions in the city shortly after 7 a.m. At around 8 a.m., local Telegram channels reported thick smoke over the capital following the explosions and a large fire on the outskirts of the city. “Kyiv residents, close your windows: the capital is being filled with thick smoke,” one local channel reported.
The Holosiivskyi district had also been targeted during the previous evening’s Russian attack, when debris caused a fire in an open area. A private house in Kyiv’s Solomianskyi district also caught fire. Two wounded in Kyiv region Two people were wounded in the Kyiv region during the morning attack, according to Regional Military Administration head Tymur Tkachenko. In the Bucha district, a man suffered a shrapnel wound to his thigh. In the Brovary district, a woman sustained shrapnel wounds to her arm and shoulder. Both are receiving medical treatment. Damage was reported in the Bucha, Brovary and Boryspil districts. Warehouses caught fire in the Bucha district, where a private house was also damaged. Another private house was damaged in the Brovary district, while a warehouse building was damaged in Boryspil.
