A combined Russian missile-and-drone strike hit the Odesa region on Monday evening, killing one person and injuring four others, local officials said. According to Odesa regional governor Oleh Kiper, the strike damaged the glazing and facade of an infrastructure facility, as well as nearby buildings. Serhiy Lysak, head of the Odesa City Military Administration, initially reported that three people had been injured in the attack, one of them seriously. Medics were providing them with all necessary assistance, he said. The blast wave also damaged windows at a nearby educational institution and residential buildings. Specialists from the district administration were working at the scene to inspect the damage and assess its scale. Lysak later updated the casualty toll, saying the number of injured had risen to four. One of them later died from his injuries. “Doctors fought for his life until the end, but his injuries proved incompatible with life,” Lysak said, expressing condolences to the victim’s family and loved ones. Officials said the full consequences of the attack were still being clarified.
