The Tanimu Turaki-led Peoples Democratic Party has joined the G-100 alliance, a coalition of opposition stalwarts, as part of efforts to forge a united opposition front to challenge and defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress in the 2027 general elections.
In a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong, the factional Interim National Working Committee explained that the decision was driven by the need to unite with other credible political forces to rescue the country from what it described as the hardship, insecurity and poverty under the APC administration.
The G-100 alliance summit, held on Monday at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja, brought together representatives of six opposition political parties to explore areas of cooperation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The meeting formed part of ongoing efforts by opposition parties to establish a common platform for collaboration and mount a strong challenge against the ruling All Progressives Congress.
