AfterQuery has reportedly secured a new funding round at a $3.2 billion valuation, marking a more than 10x increase from the $300 million valuation it disclosed with its $30 million Series A in April.
Y Combinator partner Gustaf Alströmer said the AI training-data startup reached unicorn status faster than any other company in the accelerator’s history.
AfterQuery’s founders, who are now 22 and 23, participated in Y Combinator’s Winter 2025 cohort only 18 months ago. The San Francisco startup said in April that its annualized revenue run rate had reached $100 million and that it was working with major AI labs and companies including Nvidia, Legora and Motif Technologies.
Following the model of companies such as Mercor and Scale, AfterQuery employs knowledge professionals to train AI, but focuses on teaching models and agents how professionals approach and complete real-world tasks rather than simply improving answer accuracy.
