Crystal Palace is adding serious firepower to its right flank. Darío Osorio, the 22-year-old Chilean winger who has been one of the Danish Superliga’s most electric attackers, is set to join the Eagles on a loan from FC Midtjylland with an obligation to buy for over €26 million.
If the deal completes at that figure, it would represent one of the largest outgoing transfers in Danish football history. For Palace, it’s a bet on a player who has generated interest from multiple Premier League clubs over recent months, including Everton and Bournemouth.
From Santiago to South London
Osorio’s journey to the Premier League has been a steady escalation. He moved from Universidad de Chile to Midtjylland on August 31, 2023, for a fee of approximately €5.2 million. That means Midtjylland is looking at roughly a fivefold return on their initial investment in just three years.
Since arriving in Denmark, Osorio has racked up over 100 appearances for Midtjylland, contributing a meaningful stream of goals and assists from the right wing. His output caught enough eyes that the Danish club extended his contract in January 2026, pushing it all the way to June 2030. That extension was less about keeping him forever and more about strengthening their negotiating position, a classic move from selling clubs who want to avoid the dreaded “final year” discount.
