Located off Sefton Street at the business park, the new hub features eight charging bays capable of delivering up to 400 kW of power. Fastned has said that compatible vehicles can use this to add up to 200 miles (333 km) of range in 10 minutes. It also has extra-wide charging bays, suspended cable systems, and the CPO’s signature Solar Tree canopies.
The Liverpool hub forms part of Fastned’s ongoing expansion of its UK charging network, with the company stating that the location will serve local residents and businesses as well as visitors to the city thanks to its proximity to both Liverpool city centre and the Baltic Triangle.
“As our 40th ultra-rapid charging hub in the UK, Liverpool Brunswick marks a significant and exciting milestone, as we continue to expand our network and make it easier for EV drivers to go further,” said Tom Hurst, UK Country Director at Fastned. He added: “The new hub provides convenient charging for local businesses, residents and visitors alike, making it easy to charge up and explore everything Liverpool has to offer.”
The Dutch company, which is headquartered in Amsterdam, has recently been expanding its UK network as demand for high-powered public charging continues to grow. This mirrors its growth elsewhere in Europe. However, Fastned’s recently released financial results show that rapid growth has come with its challenges. The CPO maintained a high rate of expansion in the first half of 2026, it increased its number of charging locations, the amount of electricity sold, and consequently, its revenue. However, it also saw growth in its liabilities – which now exceed half a billion euros.
