Capacity for electric vehicle charging has been expanded at the Exeter Mega Hub with the rollout of 24 Moto Charge ultra-rapid EV charging bays. These add to the site’s existing infrastructure of 32 Tesla and 44 Gridserve high-power charging bays. The charging hub caters to both private motorists and commercial fleets with what now numbers 100 ultra-rapid charging bays for electric cars, vans or small trucks, and four dedicated charging bays for electric heavy goods vehicles (eHGVs).
The company considers the expansion of capacity at Exeter to be a key milestone in its plan to invest more than £500 million across its nationwide estate. Moto is the UK’s largest motorway service station operator, with over 60 sites across the national highway network providing a mix of fuel, food, retail, and rest facilities for motorists.

The expansion of the site is part of a broader investment programme spanning investments of more than £500 million across Moto’s national network, and part of Moto’s wider ambition to quadruple the existing 1,000 charging bays to more than 4,000 electric vehicle charging bays across its network.
