Students in Telangana schools will get more opportunities to step outside routine classroom learning, explore practical skills and engage with real-life experiences under the department’s bagless days programme.The academic year will have 10 bagless days for classes 1 to 10, on the third Saturday of every month starting September 19.The initiative seeks to make learning more joyful, interactive and less stressful by replacing conventional classroom routines with activity-based and experiential learning.A specially developed module by State Council of Educational Research and Training will guide teachers in planning these activities. They include quizzes, experiments, field visits, surveys, doodling, model-making, skits, role-play, and hands-on activities. It also provides learning outcomes, skills, and information on possible career opportunities.Officials said students will be encouraged to observe, explore, ask questions, work in teams and connect what they learn in classrooms with their surroundings and everyday life. Activities would also include visits to places of historical or cultural importance, interaction with local artisans and professionals, environmental work, or arts and crafts.
