The Nigeria Police Force has commenced investigations into alleged inciting comments made by the Borno State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Sainna Buba, the Chairman of Kuje Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory, Danjuma Shekwolo, and Senator Francis Fadahunsi representing Osun East.
The police also confirmed that 154 persons arrested during the Osun State governorship election are currently undergoing investigation.
Addressing journalists at the joint security spokespersons briefing on Tuesday in Abuja, the force spokesman, Ani Iniedu, described inciting comments, particularly in relation to the electoral process, constitutes a criminal offence
The Force made this known while addressing issues surrounding the conduct of the August 15 Osun governorship election and recent controversial statements by political actors.
The police spokesperson said the authorities had questioned Fadahunsi over his alleged threat against members of the Accord Party.
