According to CEO Rick Wilmer, ChargePoint generated a quarter of its corporate revenue in Europe in the fourth quarter of 2025 – a record share for the region. In the future, that proportion is set to grow “to 50 per cent or more”, as Wilmer told electrive in June.

With the appointment of John Saffrett as Executive Vice President and Managing Director, Europe, ChargePoint has now recruited a manager with over 25 years of leadership experience in automotive, fleet management, and digital transformation to drive the company’s growth in Europe, including sales, customer relationships, partnerships, and market expansion. Saffrett will report directly to Wilmer.

Saffrett previously served as Global Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Ayvens, where he played a central role in the merger of ALD and Leaseplan – two of the world’s largest fleet management and leasing companies – into a single organisation operating in more than 40 countries.

John Saffrett was already a ChargePoint advisor

Saffrett is already been advising ChargePoint as a member of the Advisory Council since March 2026. His appointment thus moves him from an advisory role into the company’s executive leadership.
