ALBAWABA - The NYPD fatally shot a woman holding two large knives after she allegedly stabbed two people and charged toward the police in Times Square. According to NBC News, citing New York City Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch, one of the victims, identified as a 32-year-old woman, passed away at a local hospital after she was stabbed in the abdomen. Moreover, a 68-year-old man was also stabbed after getting off the subway to cross the street, but is in stable condition. Tisch said, "This was an extraordinarily dangerous situation unfolding in the heart of Times Square, the crossroads of the world at any given moment." Reports state that the suspect, identified as a 49-year-old woman from Queens, was spotted with a red bag before she removed two large knives from it to stab the first victim. The stabbings were seconds apart. Several videos of the incident flooded social media, capturing the woman slowly attempting to charge at the police officers. The woman was fatally shot and fell to the ground. Police confirmed that the woman had no criminal record but had a mental health history with the department.
