Retired Hawks head, Godfrey Lebeya, has returned to the Madlanga Commission to continue his testimony on Tuesday.
Retired Hawks head, Lieutenant-General Godfrey Lebeya, returns to the Madlanga Commission with serious questions hanging over his role in the arrest of alleged crime figure Katiso “KT” Molefe.
Lebeya is expected to face scrutiny over allegations that he deployed Hawks officers to Molefe’s Sandton home on December 6, 2024 while another police team was executing the arrest, potentially interfering with the operation.
Earlier testimony alleged that officers claiming to act on Lebeya’s authority arrived at the scene.
Lebeya has rejected the allegations, insisting he did not know Molefe and was responding to a warning from businessman Malcolm X that suspected impostors were posing as Hawks officers.
