Former head of the Hawks Lieutenant-General Godfrey Lebeya is expected to testify at the Madlanga Commission.

Retired Hawks boss Lieutenant-General Godfrey Lebeya has flatly denied playing any role in the arrest of alleged cartel kingpin Katiso “KT” Molefe, telling the Madlanga Commission that he did not even know Molefe.

Lebeya said he was brought to Molefe’s Sandhurst home in Sandton during the 2024 Political Killings Task Team (PKTT) raid after being contacted by an individual known as Malcom X.

His testimony puts a new spotlight on why the former Hawks head was called to the scene of the high-profile operation and who summoned him there.

Molefe was arrested at his Sandhurst residence during the PKTT operation in 2024.
