ARGENTINA · ECONOMY

Key Facts

—The headline number: Argentina’s economic activity rose 2.7 percent in June compared with the same month of 2025, the national statistics institute INDEC reported in its monthly EMAE index. Seasonally adjusted, activity grew 0.8 percent against May.

—The half-year: The first half of 2026 closed in positive territory, with cumulative growth of about 1.9 percent. Analysts say almost all of that growth came from farming, mining and energy.

—The two speeds: Primary sectors grew about 11.6 percent in the first half. Manufacturing and construction kept shrinking. Without the primary boom, the economy would have contracted slightly.
