In Kyiv on the night of September 1, seven people were killed as a result of a Russian ballistic missile attack on a railway depot and other railway facilities; six of them were railway workers.
According to Ukrinform, Oleksandr Pertsovskyi, chairman of the board of Ukrzaliznytsia, reported this on Facebook.
“Overnight ballistic strikes on Kyiv—specifically targeting the railway depot and other railway facilities. The ballistic strike claimed the lives of seven people, six of whom were our employees. One colleague is in the hospital with injuries—our team is by his side, and he is receiving all necessary care,” Pertsovskyi noted.
According to him, “dozens managed to take shelter; we are helping them recover.”
“There is extensive damage. We’ve been here on site since last night. Nearby is a workshop that has been completely destroyed. Rescue workers are still putting out a number of fires. Traffic was closed on two sections of track, then reopened…," noted the head of Ukrzaliznytsia.
