The Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have raised the prices of jet fuel and commercial liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) including the 5 kg free trade LPG (FTL).The price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder has been raised by ₹9.50. Jet fuel prices for domestic airlines have also been increased by ₹6.28 per litre, with the revised rates taking effect from Tuesday.Following the latest revision, jet fuel prices have risen to ₹121.28 per litre from ₹115 per litre, the second consecutive monthly increase. ATF prices were raised by ₹5 per litre in August this year after a similar reduction in July. The price of the 5-kg FTL cylinder has also been raised by ₹2 to ₹764.The price hike follows two consecutive monthly reductions in commercial LPG prices — by ₹192 per 19-kg cylinder on August 1 and by ₹183.50 on July 1.The gradual waning of the intensity of the conflict in West Asia coupled with the government removing restrictions on supply of LPG to commercial consumers during June end helped boost consumption.According to the Petroleum Planning & Analysis Cell (PPAC), India’s LPG consumption rose to a six-month high during July 2026 hitting around 2.37 million tonnes (mt) on a provisional basis, rising by 8 per cent M-o-M.
