Google has introduced dedicated generative AI performance reports in Search Console, giving website owners a first-party way to examine how their content appears across Google AI-driven search surfaces. The new reporting views cover experiences including AI Overviews and AI Mode, with related AI surfaces included in Discover. For publishers, marketers, and businesses that have struggled to separate AI answer visibility from conventional organic performance, the change creates a clearer measurement starting point.
The rollout matters because AI-generated results change how content is presented to searchers. A page can contribute to an AI experience without appearing in the same format as a traditional blue-link result. Google’s new views are intended to make that exposure more observable through reporting focused on generative AI surfaces, rather than leaving site owners to infer it from overall Search Console performance data.
Google detailed the launch in its official announcement of Search Generative AI performance reports. Supporting Search Console documentation explains that the reports measure impressions and provide dimensions such as pages, devices, and countries for eligible AI experiences.
