AirPods 5 expected to launch at September 9 event in two models, but no cameras
Apple’s biggest event of the year is happening next week on September 9. Alongside new iPhones, Apple Watch models, and likely Home products, AirPods 5 are also expected to debut.
AirPods 4 launched in 2024, and historically Apple has had two- or three-year gaps between generations. AirPods launched in 2016, AirPods 2 in 2019, AirPods 3 in 2021, and AirPods 4 in 2024. So from a timing standpoint, a launch this year more or less fits the pattern.
What’s surprising about the new AirPods, however, is how few rumors and leaks there have been about them.
