Students participating in an obstacle course organised as part of the SSVM Transforming India Conclave on Monday.

The fifth edition of the SSVM Transforming India Conclave with the theme ‘Flex Your Future’ began here on Monday (August 31). The event was kicked off with an obstacle course for the students of SSVM World School, aiming to instil in them the idea that “sometimes, strength is simply about not giving up”.The activity was flagged off by Manimekalai Mohan, founder and managing trustee, SSVM Institutions, in the presence of S. Mohandoss, trustee, SSVM Institutions; Srisha Mohandoss, director, SSVM Institutions, and co-founder, Ruh Continuum School & Ruh Early Years; and Nitin Jey, director, SSVM Institutions, and director, Ruh Continuum School & Ruh Early Years. The leadership team also took part in the challenge, alongside the students.Dr. Manimekalai Mohan said children need to experience what it means to push themselves beyond their limits. “Being mentally fit is as important as being physically fit. Today, they experienced what it feels like to struggle, get tired, receive encouragement and still keep going. When children learn to overcome challenges today, they will know how to face the challenges that life brings tomorrow. That is the idea behind this year’s Transforming India Conclave.”Ms. Srisha Mohandoss said that for the new generation, being future-ready is not only about what one knows or what one achieves. “It is about knowing yourself, understanding your strengths, staying strong when things get difficult and having the courage to keep going.”The three-day conclave, which brings together over 1,800 students, will continue on September 1 and 2, giving young participants opportunities to interact with eminent personalities from different fields. Air Commodore Prasanth Balakrishnan Nair, Gaganyatri and Indian Air Force officer; Olympic gold medallist Abhinav Bindra; Indian cricketer Ruturaj Gaikwad; and Bharatanatyam dancer and choreographer Rukmini Vijayakumar will interact with the students, according to the organisers.
