Woltemade’s potential move to Italy comes as Juventus striker Jonathan David is in talks over a loan switch to Atletico Madrid.The Serie A club have signed striker Randal Kolo Muani, with Bosnian winger Kerim Alajbegovic among the other arrivals into Luciano Spalletti’s squad.The Athletic reported in June that Newcastle were not courting offers for Woltemade, and that he was expected to stay this summer. However, a significant summer of change has since occurred at St James’ Park, with head coach Eddie Howe having departed, alongside key players Sandro Tonali, Anthony Gordon and Bruno Guimaraes.Woltemade had a positive start to his debut campaign for Newcastle, scoring in four of his first five Premier League appearances.However, in the second half of the season, he struggled for form and was no longer a guaranteed starter, while former head coach Howe also experimented with a position change into midfield.Woltemade joined Newcastle following a breakout 2024-25 season which saw him score 17 times in 33 appearances in all competitions for Stuttgart. He followed that up with a series of impressive performances at the under-21 European Championship, where he recorded six goals and three assists in five matches.
