Kalshi is teaming up with Alpaca to make its prediction-market contracts available through brokerage infrastructure used by financial institutions and traders around the world.

Customers using Alpaca’s technology will be able to access Kalshi’s event contracts alongside other assets, subject to regulatory approval in their respective markets.

The move follows Alpaca’s registration with the CFTC to become a US-licensed futures commission merchant. Alpaca said its users have increasingly sought access to prediction markets, prompting the company to expand its brokerage infrastructure into event contracts.

Kalshi sees Alpaca’s global footprint as a way to accelerate its international ambitions. Alpaca has partnerships with more than 300 financial institutions and access to 14 million brokerage accounts globally, while its trading API is used by roughly 83,000 monthly users. Kalshi said brokerages in individual countries will be able to build on Alpaca’s technology once local regulators approve the products.

Kalshi has been steadily building its international presence, including a June partnership with Wealthsimple to launch prediction markets in Canada.
