Micron Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ:MU) stock edged lower in Monday premarket trading as investors weighed softer market sentiment and fresh policy uncertainty against strong AI-driven memory demand a month ahead of its earnings results.
The stock slipped less than 0.5% after an extended run, while S&P 500 futures fell 0.3%.
AI Memory Demand Keeps Supply And Pricing In Focus
The latest industry signals continue to highlight tight memory supply and rising prices. NVIDIA Corp. (NASDAQ:NVDA) described "extreme pricing conditions in memory," saying price increases have exceeded prior expectations and could rise further next year.
Gartner projects worldwide semiconductor revenue will jump 92% to about $1.6 trillion in 2026. It expects memory revenue to surge from $220.1 billion in 2025 to $837.3 billion in 2026 and exceed $1 trillion in 2027.
