The Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for 17 railway projects spanning 2,023 kilometers involving an estimated investment of ₹50,870 crore have been submitted to the Railway Board. This was disclosed at a review meeting conducted by Sanjay Jaju, Chief Secretary to Telangana Government with Railway officials here on Monday. The DPRs include Multi-Modal Transport System (MMTS) expansion, establishing modern railway hubs in the Outer Ring Road (ORR) and Regional Ring Road (RRR) regions to match Hyderabad’s rapid growth.The modalities for proactive land acquisition frameworks specifically carved out for future bullet train corridors and laying down robust frameworks for new railway lines cutting through the Future City were also discussed. current projectsThe 21 localised bottlenecks hampering the progress of the current projects were reviewed in the meeting. These include the construction of road underbridges (RUBs), road overbridges (ROBs), approach road widening, rail line doubling, and augmenting last-mile public transit connectivity to the crucial Cherlapally Railway Station.The Chief Secretary also directed state departments to draft comprehensive DPRs to strategically secure and mobilize central funding under the Government of India’s PM Gati Shakti initiative.
