Electric vehicles have proven popular in Oregon, and the state’s rebate programs tend to run out quickly. In previous years, the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality had to halt its rebate program due to sheer demand. According to local media, last year’s rebate last three and a half months before it was suspended again.
Those who would like to own or lease and electric vehicle in the state will now have little more than two months to make use of EV rebates. As the state has limited funds for the program — currently about $8.5 million. If the last three years is anything to go by, those wanting to make use of the program should get in quickly.
Those who applied before the 4 November, but missed out because funds were depleted, the DEQ will have a waiting list who may get paid out once the agency has more funds, expected in spring 2027.
Rebates are available at dealerships but can also be applied for afterwards. According to local media, there are different rebates available:
The standard rebate is available regardless of income to residents, businesses, non-profits and government agencies. Rebates come at $2000 for a new all-electric vehicle, $1,500 for a new plug-in hybrid and $375 for a new electric motorcycle.
