Yusen Terminals has operated at the Port of Los Angeles since 1991. The newly approved lease extension stipulates that Yusen Terminals will invest an additional $200 million in zero-emission equipment over the coming years. The Port of Los Angeles is served by a fleet of more than 18,000 drayage trucks and, together with the adjacent Port of Long Beach, makes up the busiest port complex in North America.
Both ports have been consistently driving forward with electrification with both battery electric and hydrogen fuel cell technology, not only with trucks and their zero-emission infrastructure, but also with the electrification of port operations.
The terminal at the Port of Los Angeles has been actively transitioning its equipment toward zero-emission operations and currently operates a range of zero-emission and hydrogen fuel-cell equipment, including electric top handlers, forklifts and yard tractors.

When we called on terminals to test and incorporate zero-emission equipment, Yusen Terminals immediately stepped up.”
