Malesela Teffo
Malesela Teffo, who was struck off the roll in 2022, arrived at the Johannesburg High Court in full legal garb on Monday and sought to bring an application on behalf of Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala and his four co-accused.
Teffo told the court that the state had grossly violated the five accused's constitutional rights.
But all five are already represented, and their lawyers objected to the application, telling Judge Cassim Moosa it was wasting their clients' time and money.
Teffo is best known for representing four of the five men accused of murdering Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa before withdrawing from the trial in 2022.
