The draft electoral roll for Delhi was published on August 31, 2026, after the completion of the Special Intensive Revision or SIR, which began on June 20 and culminated on August 17.As many as 47.7 lakh electors out of the 1.45 crore of the national capital’s voters were excluded in the draft roll. They are now considered as people who may have moved or died; are covered under duplicate entries, or for “other” reasons have now been marked “uncollectible” and will eventually have their names struck off. However, a system for inclusion has also been outlined.Also Read: Supreme Court and the SIR exercise Delhi’s Chief Electoral Officer has said that those excluded can file their claims till September 30 through Form 6 with supporting documents. The final voter roll will be published on November 4.How to check your name on Delhi’s draft electoral roll?There are three ways to check your name on the draft roll. Open Election Commission’s voter services website that lists the three ways:Search by EPIC • Select desired language• Fill in your Electoral Photo Identity Card (EPIC) Number and State (NCT of Delhi)• Enter captcha and searchSearch by details • Select your State (NCT of Delhi) and desired language• Fill in your name and relative’s name. This should be the same as what you filled in the SIR form earlier.• Enter your date of birth, age, and gender• Select your district and Assembly constituency• Enter the captcha and searchSearch by mobile• Select your State (NCT of Delhi) and desired language• Enter captcha and searchWhat happens if your name is not on the draft electoral roll? If a person’s name is not present on the electoral roll, they can use the ‘Claims and Objections’ process to dispute this missing entry.Here are the steps: Step 1. Visit https://voters.eci.gov.in/searchInSIR/S2UA4DPDF-JK4QWODSE to cross-verify your historical registration details. There are two ways to do this. The first is the ‘Search by Elector Details’ option and the other is the ‘Search in last SIR E-Roll’ option. If this does not show up your name, then proceed to the next step.Step 2: Go to the Election Commission of India’s voter website and use the sign-up option to register with an active mobile number and an email ID (optional).Step 3: Once logged in, click on New Voter Registration or Form 6. Complete the lineage declaration by giving yours or your parents’ historical voter roll details. Filling these details are mandatory.Step 4: One needs to provide supportive documentation for online claim verification. The documents that are required are:Age/Identity Proof: Aadhaar card, passport or PAN cardDelhi Address Proof: Recent electricity bill, water bill or bank passbook that show your current residenceStep 5: Submit the form and save the instantly generated reference IDThis ID can be used to track in real-time the status of your claim to be included in the roll. One can also use the Voter Helpline App to file the dispute. It is available on Google Play Store and Apple App Store.Last date for inclusion of name in SIR exerciseThe last date for the inclusion of one’s name by submitting a claim is September 30, 2026.
