Eskom has reported a second consecutive year of profit, with improved power station performance, lower diesel use and reduced load shedding supporting its financial turnaround.

Power utility Eskom has reported a second consecutive year of profit, with profit after tax rising to R30.3 billion for the financial year ended March 31, 2026.

The result is more than double the R14 billion restated profit recorded in the previous financial year and comes as the utility reports improved power station performance, lower diesel use and tighter cost controls.

Eskom said its EBITDA margin increased to 30.63%, from 28.75% in the previous year.

Chairman Mteto Nyati said the profit was the result of improved operations and cost discipline.
