The National Consumer Commission has announced a recall affecting 2,275 Ford Ranger Double-Cab vehicles produced for the 2026–2027 production year. The vehicles were sold between May 22 and June 23, 2026.
The National Consumer Commission (NCC) has announced a safety recall affecting 2,275 Ford Ranger Double-Cab vehicles produced for the 2026–2027 model year.
According to the consumer watchdog, Ford reported that the side curtain airbags in the affected vehicles may interact with the B-pillar trim when deployed. This could cause the trim to detach and become a projectile, increasing the risk of injury to occupants.
"The affected vehicles were sold nationwide between May 22, 2026 and June 23, 2026 through Ford franchised dealers and were also exported to Namibia, Botswana, Lesotho and Eswatini."
The commission added that affected vehicle owners should take their vehicles to their nearest authorised Ford dealership for inspection and repair. The remedial work will be carried out at no cost to consumers.
