Lucid Motors has recalled 27,185 Air sedans built between the 2022 and 2026 model years over a fire risk tied to the car's exterior lighting circuit. NHTSA documents describe the defect as the exterior lighting circuit having insufficient overcurrent protection that can allow the circuit to overheat, and owners are advised to park outside and away from structures until the recall remedy is completed.
The good news is that most cars already got that fix. Lucid pushed a software update in July that closes the gap, and the automaker is notifying owners now rather than waiting for the printed recall letters to go out on October 16, 2026.
