More than 1.277 million pupils returned to classrooms across the UAE as the new academic year began on Monday.

Over 1,180 public and private schools reopened their doors, highlighting the scale of the country's education sector.

Several new schools opened across the Emirates at the start of term, reflecting continued growth in the nation's education landscape.

The return to school follows significant disruption during the previous academic year due to the Iran war.
