US forces struck two Iranian launchers on Larak Island on Sunday after Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) forces were observed preparing to launch rockets carrying sea mines into the Strait of Hormuz, a US official told Al Arabiya English.

The official said US Central Command (CENTCOM) completed clearing sea mines from international shipping routes in the strait last week.

“US forces are monitoring the area closely and remain prepared to protect the free flow of commerce through this essential waterway,” the official added.
