US forces have struck two Iranian launchers ‌on Iran's Larak Island ‌in the first military action in more than a month, a US ‌official has said.Forces with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) were observed preparing to launch rockets with sea mines into the strait, according to a US official who spoke on condition of anonymity.The IRGC said the attack ⁠killed and wounded ‌several Iranian fighters ‌and civilians, and vowed to respond ‌and punish those ⁠responsible, ‌in a statement carried by Iran's state broadcaster.The statement said the attack would "result in punishment of the aggressor".The ‌Guards did ‌not provide ⁠a precise casualty toll.Last week, US President Donald Trump said all mines had been detonated or removed from the international waters of the Strait of Hormuz and Iran had been ​told ‌that any ship or boat placing new mines would be destroyed.The last known US strikes on Iran were in late July.
