Global Insurance PLC has approved a 10 percent cash dividend for the year that ended on December 31, 2025.The approval was given at the non-life insurance company’s 26th annual general meeting (AGM), which was held virtually recently, according to a press release.Sayeed Ahmed, a member of parliament from the Shariatpur-1 constituency and chairman of the insurer, presided over the meeting.In his address, Sayeed expressed his sincere gratitude to the shareholders for their continued trust, cooperation and support.A large number of shareholders from across the country took part in the AGM. They approved the directors’ report and the audited financial statements of the company, along with other agendas and issues placed before the meeting.The shareholders expressed satisfaction with the company’s overall performance and appreciated the leadership of the chairman and the efforts of the management to ensure the company operated smoothly and efficiently during the year.SM Sarowar Alam, vice-chairman of the insurer; Md Monirul Islam, chairman of the executive committee; Shawket Reza, chairman of the claims committee; Md Ebadot Ali, chairman of the audit committee and nomination and remuneration committee and independent director; Mahabub Morshed Talukder, chairman of the investment committee; and Md Abdul Muqtadir, chairman of the policyholders’ protection and compliance committee, attended the event.Among others, Sazzad Arefin Alam, Md Harunur Rashid, Tahsin Aman, Monoj Kumar Roy and Sonia Hussain Kristy, directors; Abhijit Kumar Saha and Golam Fakhruddin Ahmed, independent directors; Md Jamirul Islam, chief executive officer; Md Mosharrof Hossain, consultant; and Md Omar Faruk, company secretary, also joined the meeting.
