Troops of the Joint Task Force North East, Operation Haɗin Kai, have foiled a terrorist attack on Kukawa town in Borno State, killing several terrorists and destroying 10 motorcycles in a coordinated ground and air operation.
The development was confirmed in a statement released on Saturday by Mohammed Goni, the spokesman for Operation Haɗin Kai, who said the operation had significantly degraded the terrorists’ fighting capability and mobility.
The attack occurred at about 10:50 p.m. on Friday, when terrorists launched an assault on troops of the 101 Special Forces Battalion deployed in Kukawa.
The troops responded with direct and indirect fire, forcing the attackers to withdraw toward the Cross Kauwa axis.
