The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has always accorded top priority to safeguarding the interests of nomadic and semi-nomadic tribal communities, said State BJP president P.V.N. Madhav.Mr. Madhav participated in the Liberation Day for the nomadic and semi-nomadic tribes, which was organised by the party’s OBC Morcha here on Sunday, along with Pravin Gughe, a member of Development and Welfare Board of De-notified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Communities (DWBDNC).Mr. Madhav recalled the British era when the migratory communities were chased away, ostracised, and viewed as runaway thieves.“These communities played an extraordinary role in spreading the Indian culture, our traditions and the essence of Hindu religion across the country. They are the true heirs of Sanatana Dharma,” he said, recalling the efforts made to provide them with Aadhaar cards and caste certificates.Meanwhile, Mr. Gughe said the Indian government was keen on extending all forms of support to the communities, including livelihood generation, housing, health insurance, education and empowerment.BJP Tirupati district president Samanchi Srinivas, State general secretary Ramesh Naidu, State spokesperson Jalli Madhusudhan, and national council member S.
