Krishna District Collector D.K. Balaji has stated that the situation in Kankipadu and Vuyyuru, where suspected diarrhoeal cases have been reported, is under control.A few patients with symptoms of vomiting were admitted in the local dispensaries in the last few days.Residents of Ankatamma Talli Temple Street, Punadipadu, Bank Colony, and other areas were admitted to the hospital with symptoms of diarrhoea. Mr. Balaji, who reviewed the situation, stated that instructions have been given to consume only boiled water.“Chlorine tables have been distributed, tanks have been cleaned, and the pipelines have been flushed. The situation is fully under control in Vuyyuru and Kankipadu,” the Collector told The Hindu on Sunday (August 30, 2026).In-charge Collector M. Naveen, who visited Kankipadu, directed the officials to take measures to temporarily close non-vegetarian markets and roadside eateries.“All steps are being taken to prevent the spread of communicable diseases,” Mr. Naveen said.
