President Lee Jae Myung reshuffled his Cabinet on Sunday, replacing ministers in six key posts. He nominated Lee Hyoung-il as deputy prime minister for economic affairs and minister of economy and finance, and tapped Kang Shin-chul as defense minister and Rep. Kim Seung-won as justice minister. Hong Jee-sun was named to lead the land, infrastructure and transport ministry, while Rep. Lee So-young and Rep. Yong Hye-in were nominated to head the SMEs and startups ministry and the gender equality and family ministry. The presidential office also named new senior and advisory officials for AI planning, megaprojects and political affairs.

Presidential Chief of Staff Kang Hoon-sik said at a briefing at Cheong Wa Dae that the president nominated Lee Hyoung-il, first vice minister of economy and finance, to serve as deputy prime minister for economic affairs and minister of economy and finance.
