Israel’s Shin Bet security agency has confirmed that Benjamin Netanyahu’s son, Yair, was flown back to Israel from the US after a threat to his life, according to the Times of Israel.
In a statement on Saturday evening, the Shin Bet confirmed that “there was a significant threat to harm Yair Netanyahu, and in light of this and after an assessment, a decision was made to urgently extract him along with his security team and return him to Israel”.
Shin Bet’s confirmation came after reports earlier this week suggested that Yair was the target of an Iranian assassination plot in December 2025, while he was living in Florida.
Netanyahu also had told Channel 14 that “Iran tried to kill, to murder one of my sons”.
