The Primorsky District Court of St. Petersburg has ordered the arrest in absentia of journalist and publicist Alexander Nevzorov, who is accused under laws concerning the financing of extremism and failure to comply with the obligations of a "foreign agent."
Mediazona stated this, citing the press service of St. Petersburg's courts, according to Ukrinform.
Nevzorov was sentenced to two months in pre-trial detention, starting from the moment of his extradition to Russia or his detention on Russian territory.
A criminal case over financing extremism was opened against the publicist and his wife, Lidiya, in May 2025 over the collection of donations for themselves. According to investigators, the Nevzorovs, having been designated an "extremist association," published "links for collecting funds to achieve the association's goals" on their social media accounts.
