Two Palestinians injured in new settler attack near besieged Qusra hilltop, mayor says
QUSRA, Palestine: Two Palestinians were injured on Saturday when dozens of Israeli settlers attacked a home near the besieged Ras Al-Ain hilltop in the occupied West Bank village of Qusra, as the standoff entered its 21st day.
Qusra Mayor Abdul Azim Wadi said settlers hurled stones at the home of the Loui Beiruti family, where seven Palestinians were staying, about 400 meters from the three homes under siege on Ras Al-Ain.
“Israeli forces were deployed to the site and fired tear gas. Cases of suffocation were reported,” Wadi told Arab News.
The attack came as Israeli forces tightened restrictions around Ras Al-Ain, installing an iron gate on Thursday that Wadi said prevented Palestinian residents from accessing the hilltop.
