Viking winger Edvin Austbo is a target for West Ham Seb Daly - Sportsfile/UEFA via Getty ImagesAug. 29, 2026 1:23 pm EDT Updated West Ham United are in talks to sign Viking winger Edvin Austbo for a fee in the region of £18million.Austbo, 21, has scored 15 goals across 71 appearances since making his debut for the Norwegian champions in 2022.The Norway under-21 international was named the Eliteserien young player of the year in 2025.Meanwhile, the Championship club have also submitted a £12million offer for winger Mikel Gogorza of Midtjylland.The east London club are aiming to strengthen their squad ahead of Tuesday’s transfer deadline, with the talks for Austbo, 21, are centred on a fee in the region of £18m.
The Championship club have identified the two young wingers as key transfer targets for head coach Nuno Espirito Santo.Gogorza, 19, who plays on the left flank, registered three assists and six goals in 36 appearances last season. Since making his debut for the Danish club in the 2023-24 season, the Denmark U19 international has scored nine goals across 67 appearances.Nuno is keen to bolster his attack with club Jarrod Bowen, summer signing Manor Solomon, Keiber Lamadrid and academy prospect Joshua Ajala his only options.Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Watford means West Ham are still waiting of their first Championship win over the season, with two points from their opening three league games.
