The construction of a new bus stand with multiple facilities in Pudukottai is expected to be completed next month. The project is being executed through the Municipal Administration and Water Supply department at a cost of ₹23.34 crore. The work commenced in March 2025 after obtaining administrative and technical sanctions from the government. The new bus stand is coming up on 5,460 square metres of land with first and second floors. A Pudukottai Municipal Corporation official said the bus stand will have a total of 60 bays.The ground floor will have 70 shops, a couple of restaurants, an Automated Teller Machine, a couple of waiting halls, a booking office, a cloak room, a police control room, time keeper room, electrical room, toilets, and an administrative room. The first floor will have the office room and control room. The official said nearly 95% of the work had been completed and the plan was to complete the remaining work, including painting, by September. Pudukottai Collector M.
