Flash floods in Nepal, caused by a glacial collapse along the Nepal-Tibet border, have ravaged several districts, with bodies being recovered from eight districts as of August 29, 2026.The floods were caused by a glacial collapse, which triggered an avalanche of debris that overflowed the Bhotekoshi River, leading to downstream flooding along the Trishuli River. The glacier, located at an altitude of roughly 17,000 feet, caused massive flooding as far as Kolpurtar, approximately 73 km away.
