Nigerians in the United Kingdom have set up a GoFundMe to support the family of a 36-year-old Nigerian, Mayowa Emmanuel, who died after a battle with cancer.
Emmanuel died on Saturday, August 22, 2026, leaving behind his wife, young son, parents, friends and members of the Nigerian community in the UK.
In a condolence message shared on his X handle on Thursday, the founder of the Nigerians in the UK Community, Benjamin Kuti, popularly known as Oluomo of Derby, described Emmanuel as a loving son, devoted husband and adorable father, urging Nigerians to support the family financially and emotionally.
He said Emmanuel’s death at a young age had left his family, friends, and everyone who knew him devastated.
Kuti said, “It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our dear friend and brother, Mayowa Emmanuel, aged 36, who went to be with the Lord on August 22, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.
