Tax authorities have stepped up targeted inspections on Mykonos, finding that a kiosk in Ano Mera failed to issue receipts for €90,000 in sales over four months.

Inspectors cross-checked the business’s digital records on the myDATA tax platform with a log kept by its owner, uncovering the violations. The business was fined more than €5,000 and ordered closed for two days.

In a separate inspection at a well-known restaurant-cafe bar on Mykonos, inspectors found additional failures to issue receipts, resulting in fines and a two-day closure.

The inspections are focused on areas with heavy tourist traffic.
