Ferry mechanical failure delays Robben Island visitors returning to Cape Town.
A trip back from Robben Island did not go according to plan for a group of visitors when their ferry broke down on the way to Cape Town.
A mechanical failure on board the Jester ferry disrupted a return trip from Robben Island on Friday, forcing assistance to be called to get the vessel back to Cape Town.
The ferry was on its way to Nelson Mandela Gateway when the problem occurred.
Robben Island Museum said there was a 'significant delay' before assistance was provided and the Jester was escorted back safely to the harbour.
