It’s a lovefest that would make a Care Bear queasy.Of course, for every bright-eyed optimist who sees nothing but potential and promise in the season to come, there’s someone waiting for the other shoe to drop — and my esteemed colleague Michael Salfino is dropping footwear all over the place with his Hater’s Ball.But it’s all sunshine and puppies here — with everything that’s right about the top-50 players in fantasy football in 2026.Picks are in order of consensus of FantasyPros ADP as of Wednesday, Aug. 26.The lover’s top 501. Jahmyr Gibbs, RB, DETGibbs is one of the most electrifying players in the NFL with a football in his hands, catching 77 passes and topping 1,800 total yards in 2025. With David Montgomery gone, the fourth-year pro should see a career-high in touches.2. Bijan Robinson, RB, ATLLast year, no running back in the NFL had more total yards than the 2,298 Robinson piled up. Robinson has at least 1,400 rushing yards each of the past two years, and, given the quarterback situation in Atlanta, he’ll be leaned on in 2026 — a lot.3. Ja’Marr Chase, WR, CINChase gave fantasy managers palpitations recently when he went down in practice, but the NFL’s most-targeted receiver the past two seasons is OK and will have Joe Burrow back under center. The last time he and Burrow teamed for a full season, Chase won the receiving triple crown.4. Puka Nacua, WR, LARIn three years, Nacua has gone from a Day 3 pick to leading the league in catches and receiving yards per game on the way to the top spot among wide receivers in PPR points. The Rams will be a buzzsaw of fantasy goodness in 2026.5. Christian McCaffrey, RB, SFSure, McCaffrey is a 30-year-old running back coming off a season where he racked up a career-high 413 touches. But McCaffrey also topped 2,000 total yards and was fantasy’s No. 1 back last year. McCaffrey has a ceiling that no other running back can match.6. Jaxon Smith-Njigba, WR, SEASmith-Njigba broke out in a big way last year, leading the NFL with 1,793 receiving yards and finding the end zone 10 times. He should be among the NFL’s most-targeted wideouts this year — he was thrown at four times while I was writing this.7. Jonathan Taylor, RB, INDNobody in the NFL carried the ball more times than Taylor last year on the way to almost 2,000 total yards and an NFL-high 20 touchdowns. And lest we forget, he was also adorable for years on “Home Improvement.”8. Amon-Ra St. Brown, WR, DETSt. Brown is as robotically consistent as any wide receiver in the NFL — four straight seasons with over 140 targets, 110 catches and 1,100 yards. He’s also scored double-digit touchdowns each of the past three years. Other than that, he’s just OK.9. James Cook, RB, BUFCook was the NFL’s rushing king last year, gaining 1,621 yards on the ground and finding pay dirt on the ground a dozen times for the second consecutive season. He’s a focal point of a potent Bills offense and should be “Cook-ing” with gas again in 2026.10. CeeDee Lamb, WR, DALLamb missed a few games last year, but from 2022 to 2024, he posted three-straight seasons with 100 catches and over 1,100 yards, including a league-high 135 grabs in 2023. He’ll get back to those heights this season.11. Saquon Barkley, RB, PHIBarkley’s numbers were down in 2025 relative to his monster 2024 season, but some regression was to be expected. Even in that “down” year, he topped 1,400 total yards and scored nine times — numbers that are closer to his floor than his ceiling this year.12. Justin Jefferson, WR, MINWhen Kyler Murray was named Minnesota’s starting quarterback, Jefferson was so happy he bought him a 97-inch TV, a PS5 and “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4” — and then locked it all inside a vault until the NFL season is over. Pay attention, Kyler.13. De’Von Achane, RB, MIAAchane had the best season of his career last year, leading the NFL with a gaudy 5.7 yards per carry and surpassing 1,800 total yards. Given the state of the Miami offense, Achane is in line for approximately all the touches ever in 2026.14. Chase Brown, RB, CINWhat can Brown do for you? Quite a bit, as it turns out. The fourth-year pro topped 1,000 yards on the ground last year, reeled in 69 passes and finished eighth among running backs in PPR points. What he lacks in sizzle, Brown makes up for with tasty steak.15. Kenneth Walker, RB, KCWalker parlayed a big game in Super Bowl LX into an even bigger deal to become the lead back for the Chiefs in 2026. Walker has never had more than 228 carries in a season, but he’ll sail past that number with his new team.
